Description of Animal Tissues
Animal tissue is a group of cells that have a common function, which is to form a network of animal organs. It is not just one cell but several similar cells in this case the same function in a particular organ in animals. The composition of animal tissue with human tissue is similar but there are different parts.
In animals there are four tissues that make up the network. The tissues are epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nerve tissue. We will discuss the structure of animal tissues one by one.
Structure of Animal Tissues
1. Epithelial tissue
Epithelial tissue is tissue that acts as a cover and limits the area of the trunk in the form of organs, cavities and ducts found in the body. The squamous epithelium plays a role in protecting and covering the underlying tissues. In addition, the activity of the epithelium receives stimulation from the animal’s nerves.
2. Connective Tissue
Connective tissue is a network based on its composition, location and structure. It has the function of connecting between tissues, supporting the body, playing a role in body temperature, and stimulating the immune system. The most basic feature of this tissue is that it contains intercellular connective tissue called matrix. The matrix itself is in the form of irregularly shaped fibers.
3. Muscle Tissue
Muscle tissue in the form of cells and organized fibers responsible for moving organs. During the movement, some are conscious and some are unconscious. Muscle fibers consist of actin and myosin filaments. Actin and myosin are the contractiles that give muscles the ability to expand and contract. Muscle tissue is divided into three, namely striated muscle tissue, smooth muscle, and cardiac muscle.
a. Skeletal Muscles (skeletal muscles)
Skeletal muscle is the muscle that makes up the meat in an animal’s body. This muscle is cylindrical in shape and very long but has no branches at the end. Go under the concept. So if it is used continuously this muscle will experience fatigue. Cells contain nerves from the central nervous system. Skeletal muscles can contract quickly and forcefully. Muscle spasms can be found in many skeletal muscles.
b. Smooth muscle
Smooth muscle cells look like spindles with a length between 20-500 millimicrons. The nucleus of the cell is only one and it is in the center of the cell. Smooth muscle contraction is influenced by nerves from the autonomic nervous system.
c. Heart muscles
Cardiac muscle is a combination of striated muscle and smooth muscle. Cardiac muscle, its structure shows the structure of striated muscle, but the way it works is similar to smooth muscle, ie it contracts rhythmically and automatically.
4. Sensor Network
Nerve tissue is the network that makes up the nervous system. Animals also have impulses so they have the desire to move like humans. The nervous system is very sensitive to the environment, so the nerves will control the muscles of animal movement. Nervous tissue contains nerve cells scientifically called neurons. In order to survive, neurons receive their nourishment from the surrounding neuroglia. Neurons have a cell body, dendrites and neurites (axons).
